While the world was fractioned on the catastrophe that was the Chernobyl nuclear disaster of 1986, and its cataclysmic effect on the economy, two like-minded and driven individuals quietly laid the foundation of a marine based project in Odisha that would not only boost the economy, but also provide a means of livelihood to hundreds of people languishing below the poverty line.

And thus, was born Falcon Marine Exports Private Limited.

Falcon Marine Exports Limited, led by Mr. Tara Ranjan Patnaik and Mr. Prava Ranjan Patnaik, has experienced remarkable growth in the Indian seafood industry. Despite its modest origins, the company has become the leading exporter of frozen shrimp in India. It has been consistently recognized by MPEDA, receiving the highest exporter award for the past three decades.

The impressive growth of Falcon Marine can be attributed to its strong operational activities, which are backed by a vast procurement network. This network consists of 5000 contract farms and 5 automated processing plants situated in Odisha and West Bengal. Despite encountering obstacles like foreign authorities demanding anti-dumping duty, the company has managed to thrive. This is evident from its large customer base of over 100 buyers.

Falcon Marine Exports Limited has diversified its business interests beyond the seafood industry, branching into aquaculture, real estate, agro-processing, aqua feed, and a retail chain of fresh seafood. This expansion has propelled the company to become the biggest conglomerate in Odisha, with a group turnover of 2700 crores.
